This Thanksgiving, the Evangelism Committee invites you to reach out to those who are homebound as well as members who have moved away. Thanksgiving cards, names, and addresses are available on the table outside the sanctuary. Just stop by the display, choose a couple, add a short note if you so choose, and send them on their way. Thank you for helping us encourage others by making sure they know they are remembered by their Zion family.
New members have mentioned that they wish they could call more people by name at Zion. Help us grow in becoming a more welcoming, inclusive community by wearing your name tag. You are welcome to wear it every Sunday, but we are targeting the last Sunday of each month as name tag Sunday. Please look for your name tag in the boxes under the stairs to the balcony, and wear it on Sunday, November 24.
Virginia Wicklund is having a milestone birthday on November 24. Help her celebrate by sending a card directly to her home (call the church office for the address) or by bringing a card to church the week of November 17-22 and leaving it in the collection basket. We will make sure those are delivered in time for her special day. We hope you will help shower Virginia with caring and cards as she begins her 99th year.
November 26 - Annual Service of Thanksgiving and Pie Social
We will gather at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26 to give thanks to God for our many blessings. After the service, stay for a time of fellowship. Bring your favorite pie to share, and then share the favorites of others. Even if you can't bring a pie, join us for this delicious get together. To save time, the Fellowship Committee is asking if at all possible to precut your pie at home. Also, keep in mind Zion’s “no nut” policy when deciding on a favorite pie to bring to share.
Yes, it is coming and no one really wants to think about it. The Property Committee is being proactive by putting snow removal teams together and are in need of at least one more volunteer. Please contact George Cochrane or Greg Anderson if you could help or would like more information.
Meal Help Needed
Might you be able to help with meals for Youth Group meetings this year? Help is needed to cook, serve, and clean up an evening meal each time a group meets. This is a great way to serve your church and connect with our youth! Volunteers will have the choice of having something purchased for them and ready at church that will just need to be warmed up or cooking something of their choice and being reimbursed for expenses. We are still in need of a meal volunteer for Nov 6, Nov 10, Nov 20, and Dec 4, Dec 4. If you can help, let Val know or sign up through the church website. (cadillaczion.org)
